You have your car serviced, but is your website maintained?

How car servicing is similar to website maintenance

Short blog post today. We just wanted to highlight why website maintenance is a lot like servicing a car.

We talk about this with our clients when discussing our services. Website maintenance is optional, you don’t technically need it, but it is highly recommended.

So with that in mind.

Here’s why servicing a car is a lot like website maintenance

Servicing a car will help to:

  • Increase the lifespan of the car.
  • Reduce the chance of a breakdown.
  • Maintain performance.
  • Hold the car’s value.

Which are pretty much the same reasons you’ll want to get your website maintained. You could swap “car” for “website” in the bullet points above and they would remain true. However, website maintenance will not just maintain performance but actually improve the performance of the website. Let’s take a look as to why.

As technology and code evolves, it becomes faster, more secure and more features are released. By maintaining a website you’ll be taking advantage of some, if not all three of these improvements.
