Our Eco Efforts So Far (2019)

Josh Cox Josh Cox 21 April 2019 1 min read

Like a lot of companies around the globe, we’re committed to saving the environment.

Here’s two key methods we’re doing to make a difference.

Eco Hosting

Web servers need to be fed electricity and connected to the internet 24/7/365. It’s no surprise that IT accounts for about 10% of the UK electricity consumption.

We use an eco friendly data-centre, in Cambridge, who plant trees to offset their web server’s carbon emissions.

This small act renders the website and email hosting carbon neutral and, the good news is, all of the websites and email boxes we host are on this platform!

Printing Less

Our stationary bill has plummeted. I can’t recall using the printer in the last 3 weeks!

We very rarely print invoices or emails. Why bother?

They are stored securely on our devices and then encrypted and backed up to the cloud, ensuring we have relevant copies for disaster recovery.

Think before you print, do you really need a physical copy?

What are you doing or what can you do to help save the environment?

We’ll be sure to release further updates as our eco efforts continue!
